South Pittsburgh Success: Beltzhoover day brings out the community

On August 14th, One Vision One Life hosted a Community Day at McKinley Park in Beltzhoover. Community Coordinators, who organized and worked the event, felt that a positive community event would help introduce One Vision One Life to the neighborhood and bring people together. Approximately 200 adults and kids attended the event which ran until about 8pm. The day included a barbeque, a deejay, a dunking booth, violence prevention speakers, and competitions for kids. Many kids walked away with prizes from dance, hoola hoop, jump rope, and basketball contests. Community Coordinators Dana Burks, Vincent Napper, Jeff Parrish, and Reginald Ward feel like the day achieved its goals and was a good local kick-off for One Vision One Life.
